Here are 8 tips to take away from National Car Care Month as April comes to a close.

  1. Make sure you continue to check your oil and go in for a change when recommended. Nothing is more of an engine’s best friend than fresh oil.
  2. Get your coolant flushed at least once a year. It should be an even mix of 50% coolant and 50% distilled water if you want to prevent corrosion.
  3. Change out transmission and different oils. They should be changed according to service intervals.
  4. Keep all the moving parts nice and greasy. Greased up parts are help your car run more efficiently.
  5. Replace your brake fluids once a year to again prevent corrosion due to a build-up of moisture.
  6. Keep your car’s paint looking shiny and protected with protective shiny and wax coating a couple times a year.
  7. Wash your car often. Salt and other grimy substances can eat away at your car’s exterior.
  8. Avoid parking in the sun if possible and occasionally apply UV protective coating to the plastic and the vinyl to maintain a nice looking interior.

Clements Chevrolet, located in Rochester, MN hopes these tips will help your car looking as good as new for years to come. Clements Chevrolet offers plenty of great service specials so come out and see us today!

Chevy Continues Global Sales Success

It’s no secret that Chevrolet’s global popularity has skyrocketed the past few years, as indicated by their new global ad campaign, Find New Roads. But few probably realize that it’s actually been 10 sales quarters since Chevrolet didn’t set a global sales record. That right, Chevrolet set another global sales record by selling 1.18 million vehicles in the first quarter of 2013 and continuing their amazing hot streak to 10.

“Chevrolet is growing around the world by leveraging GM’s global engineering and design expertise to deliver the right products in the right markets,” said Mark Reuss, GM president of North America.

One of the main reasons for the recent global success is small, subcompact cars like the Chevrolet Cruze. The Cruze has been wildly popular around the world since it was first launched in 2009 and over 2 million have been sold worldwide since then.

“Because a product like the Cruze has been developed for different markets with a wide variety of consumer needs, we have the flexibility to offer more performance and capability options – like the Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel model that will be launching in the U.S. later this year,”said Reuss.

Sales have picked up around the world but still the biggest chunk comes from the United States. There were over 469,000 vehicles sold and a 5% increase for the quarter. Leading the way in terms of increase in America was the updated Chevy Traverse, whose sales rose 22% for the Quarter.

Clements Chevrolet, located in Rochester, MN, features a great selection of all your favorite Chevy vehicles, including the global favorite Chevy Cruze, and the increasingly popular Chevy Traverse.

Chevy Volt’s Fuel Efficiency is Better Than Expected

The Chevy Volt has been topping Comsumer Reports’ customer satisfaction surveys for the last two years for a number of reasons, one being fuel-efficiency. Now studies are showing that Volt owners are not only achieving the EPA-estimated 98 MPGe but many are exceeding it.

2013_Chevrolet_Volt_04Owners that are charging their volts regularly are going an incredible 900 miles between gas station visits. By the end of the year this is saving Volt owners around $1,300. There are also some Volt owners out there like Brent Waldrep of Auburn Hills, MI, who likes to avoid gas pumps altogether.

“I have driven more than 23,500 miles in my Volt in 21 months, and have been to a gas station twice,” said Waldrep. “The last time, was in August (2012), and I still have about 65 percent of that tank left. I go about 9,000-10,000 miles between fill ups.”

The Chevy Volt has been a huge hit since it launched in 2010. Owners have collectively driven an unfathomable 150 million electric miles. That could get one from here to Mars if there was a roadway.

“We’ve seen and heard from our Volt owners that they are achieving fantastic performance numbers with their vehicle as many are beating the EPA label estimates,” said Cristi Landy, Chevrolet Volt marketing director. “Our Volt owners are showing the performance potential of driving electric, and having fun doing it.”

Chevy Donates 300 Vehicles to Great Cause

Around 300 vehicles that were water-damaged by Hurricane Sandy are being put to good use thanks to Chevrolet. The auto company decided to donate these vehicles to help first responders train and prepare for natural disaster rescue missions. The vehicles will go to Guardian Centers down in Georgia. It is there that trainees are able to develop the skills, leadership qualities, test out equipment, and plan out rescue strategies.

“When Hurricane Sandy hit the northeast in November we had a number of new vehicles at ports and on dealer lots that were flooded,” said U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing, Chris Perry. “We could not sell them, so instead of crushing them, Chevrolet is using these vehicles to help train those who respond to just such disasters.”

The Guardian Centers include a cityscape and realistic simulation of real world environments. They’ve created these training centers to be as seemingly real as possible so when actual natural disasters do arrive, the responders are properly prepared by the thorough, intense training provided at the Guardian Centers.

“The vehicles we received from Chevrolet are an essential component of full immersion disaster response training in a metropolitan environment,” said Geoff Burkart, founder and CEO of Guardian Centers. “Chevrolet has given the millions of first responders throughout North America the ability to exercise in metropolitan scenarios that will look and feel just like their home cities.

Clements Chevrolet applauds Chevrolet’s vehicles donation to the Guardian Centers and our thoughts are with those in areas still recovering from recent natural disasters.

Countdown to the Unveiling of the 2014 Chevy Camaro

So far we’ve met two high performance sports cars from Chevrolet. First, we met the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray in January at the Detroit Auto Show. Then we were introduced to the 2014 Chevrolet SS in February at the Daytona 500. Now it’s time to meet the third high-performance sports car this March at the New York Auto Show. That car is the new 2014 Chevy Camaro.

The Camaro has been extremely popular ever since it made its return in 2010. It’s actually been the top-selling sports car under $50,000 each of the last three years. It continues to beat it’s rival, the Ford Mustang, in sales and popularity every year and has rightfully kept the title of “America’s Muscle Car.” The Camaro is expected to be better than ever in 2014.

“Chevrolet customers have validated our performance credentials with their enthusiasm,” said General Motors North America President Mark Reuss “We’re going to give them even more reasons to be enthused about Chevrolet performance, design and technology.”

Chevrolet has not revealed the details of the Camaro but has shown some teaser photos. For the details, we’ll all have to wait until March 27th at the New York Auto Show. Until then all we can do is fans is speculate. There have been rumors that it could feature a 505 horsepower 7.0 liter V8 from the Corvette Z06 and one with a 3.6 liter twin turbo V6. Some have even predicted the return of the Z28 model but no one really knows.

Clements Chevrolet is very much looking forward to the Camaro’s unveiling later this month.

Two Chevys Top Vehicle Dependability Study

J.D. Power and Associates’ Vehicle Dependability Study ranked two Chevrolets as being the most dependable vehicles in their respective class. This study that was performed tracked the reliability of 2010 models during the third year of ownership. The Chevy Tahoe was named the most dependable large crossover/SUV according to the study and the Chevy Camaro took the top spot in the category of midsize sports car.

2013_Chevrolet_Tahoe_02The Chevy Tahoe is the best-selling full size SUV on the market in large part because of its dependability. In addition to that, it can tow up to 8,500 pounds. It’s also roomy enough to comfortably fit the entire family, the pets, and still have enough room to store luggage on the long road trips.

The Camaro has been outselling its competitors ever since the 5th generation’s first model was introduced in late 2009. One of the reasons many car buyers are switching to Chevrolet is because of the Camaro. In fact, 4 out of every 10 Camaro retail buyers swapped out a non-GM car at the time of purchase.

“Receiving such a prestigious dependability award the first year Camaro was introduced demonstrates our commitment to provide customers with the best possible ownership experience,” said Alicia Boler-Davis, vice president General Motors Global Quality and U.S. Customer Experience. “Together with Tahoe leading its segment, this is another example of our focus on creating life-long customers.”

When it comes to dependability you can’t beat the Chevy Camaro or Chevy Tahoe, both available at Clements Chevrolet.
