Chevrolet Silverado May Add New Luxury Trim

The Chevrolet Silverado could be getting a new look when its next generation offers a new luxury model, named “High Country”. This new Silverado model will add a different look and dimension to one of the most popular pickup trucks in the country.

While nothing has been confirmed, it is widely believed that the Chevrolet Silverado High Country will include such features as special leather surfaces, on-board technology, and even heated and cooled seats. The High Country will also have more of a “Western” feel on the interior.

The Chevrolet Silverado is likely going to be similar to the Cadillac EXT, Ford King Ranch, and Sierra Denali models. Revealed privately at this year’s national dealer meeting in Las Vegas, the Chevrolet Silverado High Country could debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

There aren’t many details on the Chevrolet Silverado High Country, but stay tuned to hear the latest!

2013 Cadillac ATS: Car of the Year

Esquire magazine recently released its pick for their 2012 Car of the Year. They chose the 2013 Cadillac ATS.

What makes this Cadillac so desirable? Perhaps it is the sport sedan image or the impeccable handling. According to Esquire, “Humanity is the last true automotive bellwether, and how the Cadillac trounced this year’s other debuts.” They also boast that the ATS is “perhaps the single most important thing Detroit has built in years.”

GM definitely considered the Cadillac ATS important as it was one of the few programs that was not suspended during their bankruptcy, and their dedication appears to have paid off. Esquire isn’t the only one noticing the ATS. The internet is brimming with excitement and rave reviews for this brand new Cadillac.

Not convinced? Stop by your local Cadillac dealer and take the 2013 Cadillac ATS out for a spin to experience this “humanity” yourself.

Subaru’s Share the Love Event

Since 2008, Subaru has run its Share the Love campaign to help support charities. This year, however, will be a little different. Subaru is letting its Facebook fans help choose which charities to support.

Subaru has already chosen three charities and will let the public choose the next two. Each day, Facebook users can vote from among six charities. The voting started on August 6th and will end on August 26th.

The two charities with the most votes will join the ASPCA, Make-A-Wish, and Meals on Wheels to complete the list of “Share the Love” charities. Then, for every new vehicle Subaru sells or leases between November 2, 2012 and January 2, 2013, they will donate $250 to the charity of the car purchaser’s choosing.

The six charities on the voting list include the Alzheimer’s Association, American Forests, First Book, Leave No Trace, Special Olympics, and USO. The winning charities will be announced on August 27th.

To voice your support, go to https://www.facebook.com/subaruofamerica/app_345388515542172 and vote for your choice of charities.

BringGo Navigation App in the Chevy Spark

The new 2013 Chevy Spark doesn’t have a CD player, but it does have MyLink Radio, which enables drivers to sync their smartphones to the car and use everything on the phone, in the car (including music). One of the apps that Chevy has developed for use with MyLink Radio is the BringGo navigation app.

BringGo will allow drivers to connect their smartphone to MyLink and then they will be able to use the navigation app. This app is cloud-based software and will display live traffic information as well as normal functions of any high-quality navigation system like, emergency information, points of interest, and local Google search.

“The beauty of BringGo is it gives our Spark customers the safety and functionality of a more expensive navigation system without the need for additional equipment and at a tremendous value,” said Sara LeBlanc, global program manager for GM infotainment. “It also demonstrates how easy it is to expand and update MyLink Radio’s capabilities for Spark.”

One added benefit of the BringGo system is that when your phone is disconnected from the car, you will still have access to the maps and routes on your phone. If you already purchased a 2013 Spark, you can get a free update at the dealership to make the embedded BringGo app functional. You will still have to purchase the app for your phone, but it will only cost about $50 and is available in app stores, like iTunes.
