With all the awards the Corvette Stingray has been taking home recently, culminating with the North American Car of the Year Award, you might be tempted to think the Corvette simply couldn’t get any more impressive. Chevrolet has wasted no time in proving you wrong, however, unveiling the 2015 Corvette Z06, “the most track capable” Corvette in the high-performance sports car’s history.
The Z06 is the first Corvette to feature a supercharged engine, a 6.2L behemoth that delivers a minimum of 625 horsepower—and, therefore, a maximum of unlimited exhilaration and fun. Chevy mates this engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission to give the Z06 a smooth, closely controlled feel behind the wheel.
“The new Z06 delivers levels of performance, technology and design that rival the most exotic supercars in the world,” said Mark Reuss, president, General Motors North America. “And the Z06 leverages the engineering expertise of GM, offering the choice of two world-class transmissions, supercar performance without supercar fuel consumption and technologies that make it easier to fully enjoy the incredible experience of driving it.”
The Z06, an essential collector’s item for any hardcore Corvette enthusiast, will go on sale early in 2015. Come in to Clements Chevrolet then to see the race-car inspired Corvette or come in today and check out any of the other vehicles in our impressive inventory.
